Titanium and XPRT Android Smartphones
If none of the new smartphones which hit the market recently caught your attention be ready for a new surprise: Sprint and Motorola have announced that they are adding a pair of Android Smartphones of their own to the lineup. That’s right! The Motorola Titanium is the first of the two and it curiously resembles a Blackberry. The Titanium has a QWERTY keyboard on the front and a 3.1” touchscreen.
What is curious about this new phone is that it is running on the already old Android 2.1 instead of the most recent 2.3. The device is made to be rugged and suitable for those that spend a lot of time outdoors. The Titanium is certified to Milspec 810G for dust, shock, vibration, pressure, temperature and more. The fact that it is released by Sprint makes things even better as it can take advantage of the push to talk network making the Android device a walkie-talkie.
Some specs of the Titanium include corporate email servers, a 5-megapixel camera with camcorder function, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a microSD card slot. The phone also comes with a 2GB card which is rather small in comparison to the 32GB it can sustain. The battery of the smartphone is an 1820 mAh unit.
The second smartphone to hit the market is the XPRT who looks very similar to the Titanium. The XPRT has a 3.1” HVGA resolution screen, 1GHz processor, full QWERTY keyboard and runs Android 2.2.
The XPRT supports all Google Services, corporate email, 3G mobile hotspot for up to five devices, and a 5MP camera with dual LED flash. Like the Titanium it has a 2GB card included, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a more powerful 1860 mAh battery.
“Motorola XPRT and Motorola Titanium blend feature-packed consumer experiences with an optimal set of productivity and security tools,” explained Jeff Miller, corporate vice president of sales, Motorola Mobility. “We are pleased to partner with Sprint to deliver each of these unique business-ready devices to their continuously growing enterprise customer base.”
