Paula Abdul officially confirmed as "The X Factor" judge

Paula Abdul will be the new judge.She will join Simon Cowell on the highly-anticipated singing competition,which begins taping its judges rounds on Sunday in Los Angeles. Paula Abdul wanted to return to the pursuit for talent.The difference in this show is that take part soloists or vocal groups,from 12 years and a $ 5 million dollars award from a recording contract.This program will debut on Fox in September.The other judges are British pop singer Cheryl Cole and the producer Antonio "LA"Reid,as reported by Fox News Latino.

It was speculated that Paula Abdul was no longer happy in this type of competition,but certainly at 48 years is no longer easy to make your way back into the field of choreography and song.Others said she was tired of the'Idol'format,but certainly she likes the search for young talent.

Even if was highly expected,the confirmation of Abdul as the judge in the new singing contest was held up as negotiations continued until the eve of the show’s first taping.

X Factor will be hosted by UK presenter Steve Jones and former Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger.
