Severiano Ballesteros died yesterday at just 54 years old. He was one of golf's all-time greats, a charismatic figure who led the European challenge to the decades-long US supremacy and turned a new generation on to the sport.

Severino, nicknamed „Seve” by fans was a most celebrated figure for almost two decades, from the ’70s to the ’90s. He collected 87 career titles and was one of the most important pieces in Europe's rediscovered love affair with the Ryder Cup, before he retired in 2007 accusing back problems.

Known for his flamboyant and imaginative golf style, he famously won one of his British Opens playing a shot from a temporary car park.

On October 5, 2008 Severino was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor after losing consciousness at Madrid airport. After that he suffered surgeries to reduce the swelling of the tumor and chemotherapy sessions.

"During my career I was one of the best at getting around obstacles on golf courses. Now I want to be the best at confronting the most difficult match of my life with all my strength," he had said at the time.

Severino was born in the village of Pedrena near the northern port of Santander on April 9, 1957. He had humble origins, his father was a greenkeeper, and came from a country with little golfing history.

However his three older brothers were golf pros as was his uncle, so naturally Severino followed in their footsteps. His brother, Manuel, gave him a 3-iron and he sharpened his skills on the beach near home on moonlit nights. At 12, he won a caddies event with a score of 79.

In 1979, aged 22, he became the youngest winner of the British Open.

A year later, he was the first European to make the breakthrough at the Masters, opening the floodgates for Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle and his Spanish compatriot, Jose Maria Olazabal.

On July 16, 2007, he announced his retirement.

Golf Digest magazine ranked him in 2000 the greatest golfer Europe has produced.

Apparently wherever she goes and whatever she does Lady Gaga sparks controversies behind her. Such is with her newest clip “Judas”! Although the clip is filled with biblical imagery that may spark lots of debates, Gaga says she is not trying to anger any religious groups.

Gaga foresaw the debates that might follow and said shortly about the release of ”Judas” that "is not meant to be an attack on religion. I respect and love everyone's beliefs." She expressed similar sentiments several times leading up to the premiere of "Judas," declaring that "it's meant more to celebrate faith than it is to challenge it."      

Laurieann Gibson the video’s co-director mirrored the singer’s statement.

"To the religious groups, I don't even know that there's religious [stuff in there]," she explained. "I'm like, you know, Jesus did have a crown of thrones, he did die for my sins. I'm a believer, so I say to them, those religious people, personally, I can't speak for Gaga, but as a director, a choreographer, as a believer, I say, 'Take a look at yourself.' For me, I would never [defame] my savior and the love and the non-judgment of what Jesus means to me. So I say, 'Take a closer look at why you're judging.' "

However many fans still wonder why both Lady Gaga and Gibson chose a topic to spark such controversies. Gibson explains: "The discussions were massive, the concepts were many prior to landing on a place. They were just exciting, full of passion. It was a magical process and we're really proud of where we ended up.” 

"I think the concept stuck with this one because ultimately there was a place where we wanted to leave the interpretation up to each individual and not take away [Gaga's] power as a performer, as a dancer, as a star," she continued. "And to leave the moments for you to interpret, and be inspired by the fact that everyone has a Judas in their life and there is a place of deliverance." 

As all Marvel comic fans know by now: It Is On The Big Screen! And by it I mean “Thor” the most unlikely movie to hit box office, a film that surprised fans worldwide and earned a grand total of $66 million, according to an estimate from distributor Paramount Pictures.

The 3-D film about a Norse god destroyed the two other films in wide release this weekend, which were both romantic comedies about marriage. "Jumping the Broom," about two families from different backgrounds converging at a wedding, collected a decent $13.7 million. "Something Borrowed," which had a bigger budget and is based on Emily Giffin's bestselling novel of the same name, had a smaller $13.2-million take.

Although „Thor” was produced by Walt Disney Pictures it is being distributed by Paramount Pictures. The earnings are good news from Disney who will receive most of the profits. 

But who exactly went to theaters to watch the movie about the Norse God? The movie attracted mostly young males, who made up 63% of the audience and gave the movie an average B-plus grade. A little over half of the movie's business -- 60% -- came from 3-D ticket receipts; 10% of that was from Imax theaters.

„Thor” was good, but it was not nearly as good as „Iron Man” who earned $96 million in its first week when it debuted in 2008. But the well-reviewed film did have a slightly better launch than some other Marvel-owned properties, like 2008's "The Incredible Hulk," which had a $55.4-million opening.

Until the weekend „Thor” had already opened in 56 countries and collected more than  $100 million. This weekend, the movie also played in Finland and China and collected an additional $46 million. The film's total earnings stand at a decent $176 million.    

None would have thought it possible; however tech-hungry Apple fans started a huge brawl in Beijing on Saturday while waiting in line to get their hands on the new IPAD 2. The Beijing News report that the incident was caused by a foreign state employee.

Apparently the man repeatedly pushed and punched people accused of jumping the line. This sparked a melee which lead to four people getting injured and a glass door being shattered, according to the report. Moreover 30 year old Wan Ming claimed to have been hit in the head with a glass bottle.

After Apple started selling the popular update of the gadget in Friday, hundreds of iPad craving fans waited in line for hours only to get their hands on the iPad 2. The store in Beijing's chic Sanlitun commercial district closed early Saturday because of the altercation, but according to a voice recording on the store's phone was open for business Sunday.

"We're working hard to get the iPad 2 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible," said Carolyn Wu, a Beijing-based spokeswoman at Apple. Demand for the iPad2 "has been amazing," she said.

The iPad 2 was a phenomenon in China. CNET reported that the first stock-out was reported about four hours later. The "slimmer, faster and lighter" rendition of iPad was also available on the China Apple Online Store where by Friday afternoon iPad 2 shipping had reached "No Supply" status.

It was also reported that Apple was able to corner 78 percent of the tablet demand in China. Apple has proved that it's not merely an American phenomenon but has the ability to draw crowds even outside U.S. borders.

Greek’s finance ministry said"The report on an imminent Greek exit from the eurozone, as well as being untrue, has been written with incomprehensible levity despite the fact that this has been repeatedly denied by the Greek government, and the governments of other EU member states. Such reports are a provocation, undermine efforts by Greece and the euro and serve speculative games."

A report published by the digital portal of the German weekly Der Spiegel,in which was stated that Greece is planing to leave the Eurozone led the euro to drop by the most in one year against the dollar.

Also in the economic field,a survey showed that Finns would support their country's participation in the rescue of euro zone nations affected by their debts,as Portugal.
